The weather may have been a washout during the Strings and Wind & Brass tours in June but last week, with the full Orchestra reunited for its tour to Stirling, Strathpeffer and Kingussie, the sun finally shone. Lucy Bates, Marketing and Communications Officer writes...

On Thursday evening the SCO played in the grand surroundings of the Great Hall of Stirling Castle to very appreciative crowds. Audience members commented that it was a "brilliant performance", "marvellous and uplifting" and simply, "it was perfect".

A day at Cambo Estate – SCO supporters’ coach trip to the East Neuk Festival

No strings attached!

Every summer, the Orchestra divides into two smaller ensembles, SCO Strings and SCO Wind & Brass, to go their separate ways on tour around Scotland. In June, SCO Wind & Brass performed in Banchory, Boat of Garten and Birnam to very appreciative audiences!

We chatted to SCO Principal Bassoon Peter Whelan (PW) and SCO Flautist Lis Dooner (LD), to see what they were enjoying most about being on tour.
