Our popular Tea Dance concerts return in 2024-25. Enjoy an afternoon of music and light refreshments and join our musicians as they introduce and perform a lively programme of personally selected pieces designed especially for people living with dementia.
Doors open at 1pm offering plenty of time for guests to be seated, get comfortable and enjoy a refreshment. The concert starts at 2pm and lasts approximately one hour.
Edinburgh:
We are delighted that young musicians from Sistema Scotland’s Big Noise communities will be joining us to perform in Edinburgh.
1pm: doors open
1.30pm: performance by Big Noise Wester Hailes
2pm: concert starts
3pm: concert finishes
To help create a relaxed environment:
• SCO musicians will introduce the music you will hear in each concert
• Doors open 60 minutes before the start – so there is plenty of time to get settled in
• Wheelchair spaces and welcoming front of house staff will be on hand
• There will be brighter lighting levels in the auditorium
• There is no need to keep quiet or sit still and you can come in and out of the auditorium during the performance
• Quiet areas will be available if you need to take a break
Coffee, tea and biscuits will be served to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.
