Lauren Reeve-Rawlings
Horn
Lauren has recently been appointed third horn of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, moving from her position as third horn with the orchestra of Scottish Opera. She has a highly successful freelance career and has played principal horn with BBC Philharmonic, BBC SSO, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Opera North, RSNO and Scottish Chamber Orchestra, including performances in the Proms and Edinburgh Festival. Lauren has also worked with the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Scottish Ballet.
Lauren began her studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, after her Bachelor she moved to Austria to study Vienna Horn with Hector McDonald, before moving to Germany to complete an MA and a Meisterklasse in orchestral and solo performance with Professor Christian Dallmann.
Whilst abroad she held the position of First Horn with the Mittelsächsische Philharmonie in Freiberg and freelanced regularly with many of the local professional orchestras. Alongside her orchestral work Lauren is a member of many chamber groups and is passionate about finding ways to make classical music accessible to everyone.
