Pamela Gillies

Professor Emerita in Public Health and Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh serving on the Society’s Research Committee, Pamela was Vice Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University for seventeen years. Awarded a CBE in 2012, Pamela has worked as an epidemiologist with the World Health Organisation on HIV/AIDS prevention and at the Harvard School of Public Health as a Harkness Fellow. Founding President of the College for the Common Good in New York, she is also a founding partner of the African Leadership University. She has served on many Boards, including the British Council, RFK UK Human Rights and the Saltire Foundation and is amongst other pursuits, an enthusiastic Member of Glyndebourne and long-standing fellow of the RSA.
