SCO Christmas Give 2024

Welcome!

This year, all funds raised by our annual festive appeal, the SCO Christmas Give, will support the work and future aspirations of the SCO Chorus.

Until Sunday 22 December, every £1 you donate through our Big Give campaign page will be doubled thanks to the incredible generosity of one of our SCO donors, with additional support from Big Give. Donations will be matched up to £20,000, meaning your gift goes even further.

About the SCO Chorus

The SCO Chorus (SCOC) has built a reputation as Scotland’s most vibrant and versatile choir and is widely regarded as one of the finest orchestral choruses in the UK.

Drawn from an auditioned pool of around 70 voluntary singers, members enjoy the unique opportunity to perform regularly in Scotland’s major cities with one of the world’s leading chamber orchestras, working with international conductors.

The Chorus develops emerging talent through the Young Singers' Programme, receives professional coaching and often establishes new partnerships. These combined benefits contribute to the organisation’s resilience and diversity and help raise the SCO’s national and international profile.

As the artistic ambition of the Chorus grows, the finance required to achieve its goals also increases, so we appreciate every donation to help the Chorus continue to excel!

“The SCO Chorus, tightly rehearsed by chorus director Gregory Batsleer, brought the whole piece to life, alert to every nuance in their beautifully enunciated text, their sound perfectly balanced and topped with a golden soprano line. A revelatory evening.

***** The Observer (Mendelssohn Elijah, BBC Proms, 2023)

The people are wonderful. You will be challenged but only in a way to promote musical growth. The repertoire is varied and always interesting, with choral standards always being given a fresh vigour and flair. The opportunities to sing with the orchestra are not to be diminished.
